Swedzinski re-elected to 7th term in 15A House

Incumbent Chris Swedzinski (R-Ghent) was voted into his seventh term for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 15A, which is currently District 16 but will be re-routed in January.
Swedzinski, who was first elected in 2010, defeated Keith VanOverbeke (D-Marshall) in the general election by a wide margin.
Swedzinski, a Minneota High School graduate, received 71 percent of the votes, while VanOverbeke, also a former Minneota graduate, received 29 percent.
Swedzinski farms between Taunton and Porter and lives in Ghent where he is also a welder. He is one of the few remaining farmers serving in the Minnesota House.
He is currently the lead on the House Energy Climate Finance Committee and has been working to prevent California’s energy policies from Minnesota.
