Minneota advances seven to section meet

Seven members of the Minneota Speech team qualified for the Section 3A meet after finishing in the top six in the sub-section meet Saturday in Minneota.
Minneota finished third as a team behind Russell-Tyler-Ruthton and MACCRAY.
The Vikings had two second-place finishes, Noah Harms in Humorous and Cora Fischer in Great Speeches.
Third-place awards went to Joey Clark in Storytelling, Wyatt Pohlen in Discussion and Joe Voit in Extemporaneous Speaking.
Melanie Engels finished fourth in Storytelling and Imogen Moriarty was sixth in Poetry.
All seven Minneota speech members will now compete in the region meet Saturday, April 15 at Redwood Valley High School in Redwood Falls with a chance to advance to the State Speech Tournament.
