Military Child Month is April

April is the month of the Military Child. April 15 is Purple-Up Day for Military Kids and is recognized on April 15. Purple is the color chosen to represent kids whose family members are in any branch of the military services.
Now is an especially great time to support the kids and families of Minnesota with a National Guard Unit recently deployed to the Middle East. The 34th Infantry Division “Red Bulls” will return home in December 2024. Please keep them in your hearts and prayers.
Comic books are available for any kids who would like to learn more about what it means to be a veteran. The comic books are free and will be available at the Mascot office and the Minneota Public Library for kids to pick up.
Another important day in April is Veterans Day on the Hill on April 17. The day begins at the National Guard Armory, one block from the Capitol at 600 Cedar Street, St. Paul. Coffee will be served at 10 a.m. and a lunch at 11:30 a.m. will be provided by the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, followed by a Rally in the Rotunda from 1:15- 2 p.m.
No membership in any organization is required, All Supporters of Veterans are Welcome.
National Poppy Day is May 24. Money donated will be used to support Veterans and Veterans Programs.
