Library to show PBS video on Hettlings

The Minneota Public Library will be showing the PBS program called "Vietnam Brotherhood", which showcases the Vietnam Memorial and History Center run by Charlie and Royal Hettling in Minneota.
The video will be shown at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 31 in the Opera Hall above the library.
PBS personnel came to Minneota to film the segment last July 2022 at the museum. Charlie and Royal were both interviewed about their experiences in the Vietnam War and about their local museum with producer Dana Conroy. The program was scheduled to be aired on PBS last year for its Postcards show but had problems with its fiber optic cable, so it will now be aired on PBS in the fall. PBS has approved the showing of the 30-minute video here.
Lyon County Historical Museum Executive Director Jennifer Andries will also be on hand that day to talk about the effects the Vietnam War had on Lyon County, which is an exhibit currently on display at that museum.
The program is free and open to the public.
