Miss Veronica Sturm is now employed at Ed’s Cafe, assisting with the cooking. A Boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Grengs Wednesday, Dec. 8. A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter VanOverbeke on Sunday, December 5th.
Free movie for children
Saturday, Dec. 18 Paul Falk, secretary of the Minneota Businessmen’s Association, arranged for a FREE movie for children of 12 and under. This movie, a Roy Roger western, is set for Saturday, December 18, and the first showing will be at 1 p.m. with the second at 2:45 p.m.
Mrs. Kiley Honored
Mrs. E. B. Kiley was pleasantly surprised last Saturday when a few neighbors came to help her celebrate her birthday. After a social afternoon a light lunch was served by the hostesses, Mrs. James Flemming and Mrs. Wilbur Drown.
Honored on birthday
The neighbors of Mrs. Hononre Locy gave her a surprise birthday party Tuesday afternoon, December 7th at her home on her 57th birthday. Honored on birthday Mrs. Carl Christianson, Sr. was honored on her birthday Sunday afternoon. Children that were present were Mr. and Mrs. Irving Christianson and children of Canby, Mr. and Mrs. Abo Josephson and children.

Named to $500,000 Club
Henry Teigland, with his wife, was recently named a member of the $500,000 club by A.O. Smith, Harvestore Products, Inc. Teigland, a member of Hawke and Company Harvestore, Worthington, was given the award for selling over $500,000 of the company’s products.
Thielges-Sumerfelt
Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic church in Taunton was the scene of the marriage of Miss Patricia Sumerfelt, of Taunton, and Roland Thielges of St. Leo, on October 26 at one o’clock in the afternoon. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Sumerfelt of Taunton and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Thielges of St. Leo.

Mary Margaret DeSmet, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis DeSmet, was baptized on Sunday, December 8, at St. Edward’s Catholic church.

Sunday, December 8, Lois Rennveig Guttormsson, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Guttormsson, was baptized at St. Edward’s Catholic church. Firemen entertain Informality was the theme last Thursday evening when the Minneota Fire Department entertained supervisors of townships which they serve and members of the village council. It was an innovation as far as this community and the surrounding area is concerned. Minneota’s daughter wins $8,000 in T.V. gifts Mrs. Paul Cameron, formerly Carol Mikkelson of this place, won $8,000 in gifts on the television show “Concentration”, which is taped and will be shown locally for three days in December. She is the daughter of Mrs. Ed Huso and lives at Rumson, N.J.

1915 Aultman Taylor 30-60
Mel and Lois Winter of Minneota display their 1915 Aultman Taylor 30-60 that appears on the December, ‘93 page of the 1994 DuPont Classic Tractors Calendar. Only 15 tractors made it into this fifth edition of the nationally-known calendar from DuPont, maker of herbicides and other crop protection products.
