4-H Livestock Sale
The Lyon county fair will have a new feature this year - a special sale of the 4-H club livestock. The sale will be held on Friday evening, the closing night of the fair, a public auction in front of the grandstand; and it is staged as an encouragement to 4-H members in livestock production.

Paraguayan AFS Student arrives at Lawrence Home
Ramon Britez, American Field Service student from Paraguay arrived Sunday at the Carl Lawrence home. He will attend the Minneota high school, entering the senior class when school opens next week, and remain in Minneota until next July.
Brothers win trip with steers
Two boys, David Myhre, 13, and James Myhre, 14, sons of Mr. and Mrs. John Myhre, Jr., won trips at the Lyon County Fair last week. David, who showed a Shorthorn won a trip to the Ak-Sar-Ben show at Omaha, September 12, 13, 14, while James, who showed a Hereford, won a trip to the Market Livestock Show in the Twin Cities, September 20 through the 28th.
Larson new sports writer for Mascot
Marc Larson, son of Superintendent and Mrs. Ralph Larson, will be reporting high school reports for the Mascot during the coming school term.

Mary Jane Janssen and Ernest A. Berends were united in marriage on May, 18, at Gethsemane Lutheran church in Hopkins. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Clarence T. Dero and Mrs. and Mrs. Ted Berends of Ghent.

On Saturday morning, May 18 in St. Edward’s Catholic church, Mary E. Vlaminck, Minneapolis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyriel Vlaminck, became the bride of Leonard W. Otto, Minneapolis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Otto of Canby.

Russian student in Minneota
Irina Zhedunova is a foreign exchange student staying with Jim and Corky DeCock for about 11 months studying at the high school and learning about our country. Irina is 15 and from Yaroslavl, Russia which is 220 miles from Moscow.
