Dear Editor;
The Minneota bloodmobile took place on Wednesday, January 23 at the American Legion with 41 presenting, three deferrals, for a total of 40 units. We slightly missed our goal of 44.
Bertha Caraza was a first-time blood donor and Richard F. Bot donated his 21st gallon. Thank you to all who donated blood. We would like to thank the State Bank of Taunton for sponsoring the bloodmobile by paying for the meals for the Red Cross workers and volunteers and donating the napkins.
Thank you to the American Legion for donating the site and to St. Edward’s Catholic Church for providing the cookies, crackers and cheese for the donors.
A special thank you to Glenda Fink, Donna Buysse, Kathy Wyffels, Brenda Verschelde, Pat DeSmet, Marcia Vlaminck, Terry Van Keulen and Pauline Wambeke for volunteering as greeters and in the canteen area.
Thanks go out to Terry Van Keulen and Monica DeSmet of the Rotary for calling the blood donors. By everyone working together, we had a successful Bloodmobile.
The next bloodmobile will be in Minneota at the High School on April 23. Everyone is welcome to donate.
