Lincoln County 4-H Babysitting Clinic

The Annual Lincoln County 4-H Babysitting Clinic was held on June 6 in the Ivanhoe Community Center.

The morning session focused on kitchen and food safety, ages and stages of child development, and a discussion on babysitting responsibilities.

Following lunch and a short break, Kristi Richmond, Ivanhoe Ambulance Director, discussed first aid, when and how to dial 911, and gave the participants hands on experience using lifesaving skills in choking prevention, and CPR.

The afternoon concluded with a “Meet the Moms” session, where the future babysitters got a chance to ask babysitting questions of local experts—Moms, who discussed childcare, and shared with us what they look for in a great babysitter.

The Babysitting Clinic was sponsored by the Lincoln County 4-H and the Ivanhoe Public Library.
