Music will fill Canby during the summer.

Music on Mondays planned for Canby

There will be music in Canby once again. The Canby Arts Council, sponsored by the City of Canby, announced its fifth annual series of musical events that will be held this summer at Canby’s Central Park. Each performance will begin at 7 p.m.

All events will feature local and regional artists each performing different types of music. On the schedule for August 7 is the Route 68 Big Band out of Minneota.

The events are free to the public; however freewill donations to help underwrite the series will be welcomed. If there is inclement weather the performances will most likely move to Canby’s Community Center located at City Hall.

Music on Mondays will have a food option that is planned for each event. Food service will begin at 6 p.m. during each event. After covering the cost of the musical programs, all proceeds will be donated to the Canby Theater Renovation Fund.

Here are events so far: Monday, June 12: Brothers 2. This musical duo from Ortonville, MN will feature classic rock favorites.

Monday, July 10: Four on the Floor. This men’s vocal quartet will feature a variety of styles ranging from barbershop harmonies to patriotic favorites.
