Exhibit reception at museum

The Lyon County Museum will host an exhibit opening reception on Thursday, July 13 for the traveling exhibit, New Land, New Life: Norwegian Immigration in Minnesota, 1825-1925. 

The traveling exhibit opened on July 1 and runs until September 30 at the Lyon County Museum, 301 West Lyon Street, Marshall. The traveling exhibit is from the Synnove-Nordkap Lodge St. Paul Sons of Norway.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., Pastor Lyle Snyder of Marshall will give a presentation on the immigration story of his great-great grandfather Johanes Kjelson Westereng from Ostfold County, Norway to Madison, MN.

Refreshments and Norwegian cookies and goodies will be served. The traveling exhibit in Marshall is co-sponsored by the Lyon County Museum along with the Vennskap Lodge Canby Sons of Norway.
