Avera holding Hospice Volunteer Sessions

Avera@Home Southwest Minnesota is holding informational sessions on becoming a hospice volunteer. Sessions will take place Wednesday, Jan. 10 at noon and 7 p.m. in the conference room at Avera Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall, Minn.
A session will also be held at Avera Sunrise Manor in Tyler, Minn. on Thursday, Jan. 11 at noon.
Avera@Home Southwest Minnesota is seeking hospice volunteers throughout the region to help in the following areas:
•Support patient and families with visits
•Provide office support
•Visit or call bereaved families
•Make phone calls to patients or families who need a calm, helpful telephone companion
•Adopt a facility -- become the patient and family volunteer for hospice patients there
•Assist with fundraising or other events
They are also seeking certified massage therapists and licensed cosmetologists or estheticians to provide services to hospice patients on a volunteer basis.
Hours are flexible and individuals will receive training to develop necessary skills.
