It’s that special time of year when the hot summer sun bears down hotter than ever — but can’t put away the fun of summer playoff baseball.
Minneota Vultures American Legion pitcher Sam Buysse seemed to be wondering, “Why did I throw that pitch!”
The Minneota Jr. Legion Vultures won the District 7 South Division Championship with their win last week over Cottonwood.
Minneota is now 13-10 overall this year and will play at 5 p.m. Saturday at Madison against the Clinton Cards in their opening game of the Section 9C Tournament.
“Luverne brought their lumber,” Tuesday at St. James.
Sam Buysse had three hits, bunted once, was hit by a pitch and scored two runs.
He also was the starting pitcher. Here he bunts the ball.
"We do a lot of bunting," said first baseman Austin Sorensen.
All Minneota wanted Sunday was a "warm-up" game before next Saturday's playoff opener with the Clinton Cards.
