Yost gets 1,000th assist in Vikings' win over Willmar

McKenna Yost recorded the 1,000th set assist of her career to help unbeaten and Class A top-rated Minneota defeat Class 3A Willmar 25-15, 23-25, 25-19, 25-18 in a non-conference match on Thursday night.
The Vikings (13-0) wrap up the season tonight at home against Class A No. 2 Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in a rematch of last year's state championship match won by Minneota.
Due to the governor's recent executive order, all youth sports have been put on hold again for a minimum of four weeks, putting an end to any playoff matches for volleyball.
Yost, a junior who was the Mascot Athlete of the Week last week, finished with 30 assists against Willmar. She also served had 14 digs.
Abby Hennen pounded down 22 kills and had 23 digs, five assists, an ace serve and an ace block. Natalee Rolbiecki notched 19 kills, 20 digs, three ace serves and two ace blocks. McKenzie Tolk had 19 digs and Ellie Pesch had 13.
Abby Rost added five kills from 18 errorless attacks and also had two ace blocks.
