Vikings have six champs at Iowa Invite

Minneota had six individual champions in the four-team West Lyon Invitational Saturday in Larchwood, IA.
West Central Area amassed the most points among the four teams with 161.5. Minneota was second with 135 points.
Champions for the Vikings were: Adam DeVlaeminck (2 falls) at 138 pounds, Destin Fier (4 falls) at 150, Cael Fier (2 falls) at 175, Eli Gruenes (2 falls) at 190, Noah Gorecki (2 falls) at 215 and Ryan Meagher at 285.
Heydan Danielson at 106, Quinton Anderson at 120, Brock Fier at 165, and Kyler Lozinski at 215 all placed second individually.

Minneota won a pair of duals at the Norwood Young America Triangular on Thursday to improve to 8-0 on the season.
The Vikings routed Central Public Schools 49-17 before rallying to edge Hutchinson/Buffalo Lake-Hector/Stewart 29-28.
Against Central Public, Minneota got pins from Owen Myrvik at 114, Adam DeVlaeminck at 133, Mason Javers at 152, Brock Fier at 160, Noah Gorecki at 189 and Eli Gruenes at 215.
Destin Fier won a major decision at 145, Quinton Anderson earned a decision at 121 and Heydan Danielson received a forfeit at 107.
Against Hutchinson/BLHS, the Vikings trailed 14-0 after three matches, but rallied to win seven of the next 10 matches.
Blake Mead, ranked No. 10 at 127 pounds, started things off for Minneota with a pin. Trailing 20-6, the Vikings reeled off four straight wins to tie the dual 20-20. Adam DeVlaeminck, ranked No. 3 at 139, got a pin, followed by a decision from Destin Fier at 145.
Brock Fier, rated No. 6 at 172, scored a big 5-2 win over Raydon Bipes, ranked No. 4 at 152. Mason Javers then won a decision at 160 to tie the match, 20-20.
Luke Hoag, ranked No 2 at 160, went up a weight to notch a technical fall as the Tigers regained the lead, 25-20.
Eli Gruenes, ranked No. 4 at 189, got a pin to put Minneota back in front, 26-25.
Hutchinson/BLHS then got a 3-2 win from Larkun Kurth at 215 for a 28-26 with one match remaining.
Ryan Meagher secured the match for Minneota with a 4-0 win at heavyweight.
