Vultures attack for two victories
The Minneota Vultures Jr. American Legion baseball team has begun to play like Vultures, attacking their prey and tearing them apart.
After a 14-3 win over Dawson on Friday, and an 11-1 win over Cottonwood Tuesday, Minneota is 6-1 and in lead their conference. “They played really well. Again, they are ‘playing the game’, focusing on the small things and taking the game pitch by pitch and adjusting,” said Coach J.D. Pesch.
“Pitching has been getting better. We’re working some new guys in the rotation. Sam Buysse on his second ever outing threw strikes after settling down.
Cole Sanow has been pitching a bit more and looking very good,” Coach Pesch said. Teddy Pesch pitched four innings and got the win. He fanned six, gave up no walks and allowed just one hit and no runs. Sam Buysse came on in relief for three innings and he fanned two and gave up just four hits. Sam Buysse was 3-5; Pesch 4-4; Landon Rolbeicki 3-5; Austin Sorensen 2-3 and Cole Sanow 3-5. The Vultures are in first place in the Junior Legion District 7 South.

Sam Buysse had three hits; Austin Sorensen two and both Rolbiecki and Teddy Pesch collect hits. Pesch scored four runs.
The Vultures play at 5 p.m. at home Friday against Granite Falls.
