Volleyball Vikings thump BBE, 3-0

The Minneota Vikings volleyball team improved their early-season record to 2-0 Monday with a 3-0 win over Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at Ridgewater College in Willmar.

The scores were 25-12; 25-23 and 25-15.

Morgan Hennen served the first seven points of the game and Minneota went on to easily defeat the Jaguars for the fifth straight year at Ridgewater.

They stalled a little in the second game, but bounced back for a convincing 25-15 win in the final contest.

Lydia Sussner led the team in hitting with 18 kills while Lizzy Gillingham had 11; Jennifer Krog 7; Sydney Larson, Morgan Kockelman two each and Natalie Rolbiecki three.

Sussner had three blocks and Kockelman two,

Kockelman was all over the floor setting for her hitters all night and Abby Hennen played well as the Libero for the Vikings — saving several potential points.
