Vikings turned back by TMB, 66-55
Despite a balanced scoring attack and a strong overall performance, a depleted Minneota succumbed to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 66-55 last Friday in Tracy.
TMB (19-5) routed the Vikings 72-51 in a previous meeting on Jan. 6 in Tracy. This time, the Panthers bolted out to a 10-2 lead, and it looked like they would run away with the game.
But Minneota went on an 18-8 run to cut the deficit to 20-18 and they stayed within striking distance the rest of the way.
Cale Sorensen had 14 points and eight rebounds for the Vikings (5-18). Peyton Sheik added 13 points, Max Rost eight points, Sawyer DeSmet seven points and 10 rebounds, Anthony Rybinski five points and seven rebounds, and Ryan Dalager five points.
Tony Nelson and Noah Swenhaugen had 14 points each for the Panthers. Jake Turner finished with 13 points, Trevor Smith 11 and Christian Wendland nine.
NOTE: Minneota's scheduled game at Dawson-Boyd on Monday night was postponed due to inclement weather and was rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 28 in Dawson.
