Vikings notch 10th win with sweep

Minneota overcame hard-hitting Central Minnesota Christian and won its 10th match of the season with a 25-17, 25-16, 25-15 Camden Conference sweep Tuesday night in Minneota.
The Class A top-rated Vikings (5-0 in the Camden, 10-2 overall) trailed 10-9 in the opening set before going on a 4-0 run, highlighted by three kills from Natalee Rolbiecki, and never trailed at any point in any set after that.
Minneota started out the second set with a 6-1 lead and never allowed the Bluejays to get any closer. McKenzie Tolk, who led the team with 18 digs, came up with several stellar defensive plays in that second set to keep several balls in play and allowed the Vikings to run out the set.
In the third set, the Vikings again took control early, leading 5-1 and never trailing after that. Leading 23-13, Minneota's Emma Bottelberghe pounded down a kill for the 24th point, and Abby Frie's kill closed out the match.
Rolbiecki finished with 15 kills to pace the Vikings. Frie added eight kills, Ireland Stassen had six, McKenna Yost four, Ella Johnson three, Bottelberghe 2, and Tolk 1.
Yost amassed 23 set assists and Stassen contributed 14. Lyzah Sussner had nine digs, Yost and Rolbiecki had seven each, and Stassen six.
Minneota's next match is at Dawson-Boyd tonight (Sept. 23). The Vikings then compete in the two-day (Friday and Saturday) Midwest Challenge.
