Vikings get top seed in 3A-North

Minneota received the top seed in the upcoming Section 3A-North tournament.
The Vikings (22-3) will play the winner of No. 8 Lakeview or No. 9 Dawson-Boyd in the quarterfinals at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 26 in Montevideo.
The semifinals are slated for March 1 at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
Tracy-Milroy-Balaton is the top seed in the south half of Section 3A. Minneota and TMB split their home-and-home series this year, each winning on its home court. If those teams reached the section title game, it would be played on March 11 at SMSU.
Entering playoffs, Natalee Rolbiecki leads the Vikings in scoring with a 16.1 points-per-game average. McKenna Yost is averaging 13.5 ppg, Ireland Stassen 10.7 ppg, Jeren Rost 6.7 ppg, McKenzie Tolk 4.8 ppg, Kenadi Arndt 4.6 ppg, Grace Hennen 3.7 ppg, and Kennedi Jurrens 3.0 ppg.
Minneota's final regular season game at Mayer Lutheran scheduled for Monday, Feb. 21 was rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 23. The Mascot went to press before the start of that game. Results will be printed in next week's edition.
