Vikings defeat Lakers in overtime 65-58
In a tight game most of the way, Minneota out scored Lakeview 11-4 in overtime for a 65-58 Camden Conference victory Saturday night in Cottonwood. The win gave Minneota a split in the season series.
The Lakers won the first meeting 66-65 on a last-second shot by Jackson Klocow Dec. 6 in Minneota.
The game was part of a girls-boys doubleheader, with the girls game played first. Logan Sussner had a double-double match with 16 points and 16 rebounds to pace Minneota, which shot only 37 percent from the floor but sank seven more three-pointers than the Lakers.
Nolan Boerboom and Riley Buysse scored 13 points each for the Vikings. Alex Saltzer had 10 points and Jacob Citterman added nine. It was the second straight game in which Minneota had at least four double-figure scorers. Aaron Loe’s 22 points for the Lakers led all scorers.
Colby Marczak chipped in 12 points and Billy Errington had nine. Lakeview made only 1 of 18 shots from three-point range.
