Vikings' bats erupt in 3-win week
Minneota went 3-0 last week, exploding for 28 hits and 36 runs in lopsided victories over Canby, Renville County West and Dawson-Boyd.
The Vikings then fell to Wabasso 11-4 on Monday night. Results will be available in next week's edition.
Minneota drubbed Canby 13-3 last Tuesday, routed Renville County West 14-0 on Thursday and topped Dawson-Boyd 9-3 on Friday.

Thor Fischer and Jacob Hennen combined on a three-hitter with six strikeouts as Minneota won its third straight game.
Fischer worked the first 4 2/3 innings, allowing three hits and three runs, while walking three and striking out five. Hennen shut out Dawson-Boyd over the final 2 1/3 innings.
"Later in the game we took advantage of a couple of errors and scored a few late to make it a six-run game," said Minneota coach Keven Larson. "We ran the bases aggressively and that got us a few extra chances. Thor and Jacob pitched pretty efficiently."
Ben Skorczewski and AJ Myhre had two hits apiece to lead and eight-hit attack for the Vikings. Myhre also drove in two runs. Josh Schuelke and Tyler Gronke were also credited with an RBI.

Braeden Panka tossed a two-hit shutout and struck out six as Minneota blanked Renville County West.
"Defense and pitching was the story of the night," said Vikings coach Keven Larson. "We made a lot of plays and Braeden went the distance and threw only 55 pitches."
The Vikings amassed 12 hits and invoked the 10-run rule after six innings. Jacob Hennen went 3-for-4, scored two runs and drove in two runs. Josh Schuelke and Cooper VanOverbeke had two hits apiece. Isaac Pohlen also drove in two runs.
"Offensively, we couldn't get anything going the first time through our lineup," said Larson. "However, getting into the second time through our lineup was a different story."

On Senior Night, Ben Skorczewski hit a double and a triple and knocked in four runs to spark an eight-hit attack for the Vikings.
AJ Myhre earned the win on the mound for Minneota, allowing five hits and three runs, while walking two and striking out eight in five innings.
"AJ pitched very well throughout the game and we hit the ball well when we needed to," said Minneota coach Keven Larson.
Also knocking in runs for Minneota was Myhre, Josh Schuelke, Carter Schuelke, Braeden Panka and Cooper VanOverbeke.
