Joey Rybinski reels in a pass from Jacob Hennen and races to the end one for a 40-yard touchdown in the third quarter Friday night.

Unbeaten Vikings dominate RTR, 37-6

Minneota concludes regular season Thursday at home against Dawson-Boyd

Jacob Hennen tossed a pair of scoring strikes to Joey Rybinski and Minneota scored in every quarter in dominating Russell-Tyler-Ruthton 37-6 last Friday evening at K.P. Kompelien Field.
The Homecoming royalty was introduced at halftime.
The Vikings amassed 387 total yards, 25 through the air and 132 on the ground. The Vikings' defense suffocated RTR and held its offensive attack to just 77 total yards for the game.
Hennen's three-yard touchdown run and Peyton Gillund's conversion kick in the first quarter gave Minneota a lead it would not relinquish. RTR scored on a 16-yard pass in the opening quarter for its lone score of the game, but missed the conversion.
Minneota then scored two touchdowns in the second quarter on a 10-yard run by AJ Josephson and a 40-yard pass from Hennen to Rybinski. The Vikings also added a safety.
Rybinski and Hennen teamed up for a 54-yard aerial scoring strike in the third stanza. And the Vikings capped the scoring on Cooper VanOverbeke's 21-yard touchdown run.
Hennen completed 14 of 20 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns. Isaac Pohlen completed both of his passes for 12 yards in a backup role.
In a running-by-committee ground game, the Vikings had five runners reach double digits in yards gained. Jonah Gruenes carried five times for 33 yards, while AJ Josephson had 29 yards, Hennen 27, VanOverbeke 21 and Gerardo Gutierrez 11.
Defensively, the stubborn Vikings' defense had a host of outstanding efforts. Conner Sik had four tackles, including three solo tackles, a sack and two tackles for losses. AJ Myhre finished with eight tackls, Tucker Thooft seven, Joey Rybinski six, and Gruenes, Josephson, Hennen, Zack Fier, Jayden Gamrak and Jacob Citterman four apiece.
Grunes also had an interception, Joey Rybinski added a sack, Anthony Rybinski a fumble recovery, and Gamrak a blocked punt.
Peyton Gillund converted all five of his extra point kicks.
Minneota wraps up the regular season Thursday night at home against Dawson-Boyd.
