Howard Wood Invite
(Results May 6 & 7)
The annual Howard Wood Field Invitational drew 144 teams from several states. Several Canby/Minneota athletes took part in the tournament.
Grace Drietz finished fifth in the 800 run in 2:16.94 and sixth in the 1600 run in 5:15.69. The Canby/Minneota 4 x 400 relay team of RyAnn Hansen, Claire Stoks, Braelyn Merritt and Drietz were fifth in a time of 4:20.78. Aidyn Bruns finished 17th in the high jump at 5-1.
Trevor Gray was fourth in the boys' high jump with a leap of 6-4. The winning jump was 6-6.
The C/M 4 x 400 relay team with Michael Tol, Zach Ourada, Blake Stoks and Trevor Gray was 14th in a time of 3:43.38. The 4 x 800 relay team with Blake Giese, Ourada, Kolton Duis and Stoks was also 14th in 8:48.58.
Montevideo Invitational

The Canby/Minneota girls scored points in 17 of the 18 events, including first-place finishes by Grace Drietz in the 800 and 1600, the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relay teams, and Mackenzie Janiszeski in the discus.
The C/M girls easily won the six-team meet with 95.5 points to 51 for runnerup MACA.
MACA won the boys meet with 88.5 points. The C/M boys finished fifth with 32.5.
Blake Stoks won the 800 run, Trevor Gray was first in the high jump, and the C/M 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 relay teams also both won.
