Sorensen's 30 not enough for Vikings
Cale Sorensen sank eight 3-pointers and scored a career-high 30 points, but it wasn't enough as Minneota fell to BOLD 73-65 in a Saturday afternoon contest in Olivia.
Sorensen connected on 10-of-23 shots, including 8-of-14 from three-point range, His previous has game was 29 that he had earlier this season against Ortonville.
Trailing 4-2, Minneota (4-12) went on a 9-0 run to grab an 11-4 lead against the Warriors (12-5). BOLD trimmed the deficit to 11-10 before Sorensen hit consecutive three-pointers to give the Vikings a 17-10 advantage.
The Warriors then made their move behind Max Marks, scoring the next 13 points to lead 23-17. Marks finished with a team-high 28 points.
Although the Vikings never led or tied the game after that, they got to within 36-35 at one point in the first half.
Max Rost scored 17 points on 8-of-14 shooting for Minneota, which used only seven players in the game. Ryan Dalager had five points, Sawyer DeSmet and Peyton Sheik contributed four points apiece, Anthony Rybinski had three and Garet DeBoer two.
For BOLD, Ethan Sullivan had 12 points and Hunter Borer and Cole Visser finished with 10 points apiece.

Brooks Asche scored a game-high 19 points, Isaac Post had 16 points and Gavin Husman added 13 as the Wolverines (7-10) turned back the Vikings (4-11).
Asche connected on a three-pointer to start the game and MACCRAY never trailed the rest of the way.
Cale Sorensen had 14 points for the Vikings, who shot just 32 percent (18-for-57) from the field, including 13 percent (2-for-15) from beyond the arc. Peyton Sheik had 10 points, Max Rost eight, Anthony Rybinski seven, Ryan Dalager three and Garet DeBoer two.
MACCRAY shot a blistering 58 percent from the floor and sank 7-of-13 three-pointers.
