Seven track champs named at Fiesta

Drivers from the Dakotas and Minnesota came to close out the 2017 racing season at Fiesta City Speedway in Montevideo on Wednesday night and when it was over, all track champions had been named.

They were:

•Wissota Late Mode: Brian Schultz of Montevideo.

•Wissota Modified: Brian Haben of Appleton.

•Wissota Super Stock: Jon Tollakson of Montevideo. •Wissota Midwest Modified: Corey Storck of Morris.

• Wissota Street Stock: Jordan Tollakson of Montevideo. •Wissota Hornet: Dustin Virkus of Clarkfield.

•Pure Stock: Abby Hacker of Montevideo. The night started with make-up features for the Pure Stocks and Hornets. Scott Lonneman of Benson led the entire Pure Stock make-up feature for his second win of the season.

Track champ Dustin Virkus won the WISSOTA Hornet make-up feature. He took the lead with three laps to go to get his tenth win of the year. It was a down-to-the wire finish in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature.

They were: •Wissota Late Mode: Brian Schultz of Montevideo.

•Wissota Modified: Brians tookhe lead two laps to go but Corey Storck roared past Thorstad as they came to the white flag and Storck held on for his fifth win of the season.

Ryan Satter of Dent led the WISSOTA Street Stock feature flag-to-flag for his first win at Fiesta City Speedway. In the WISSOTA Super Stock feature, Tim Johnson, Brainerd, took the lead with six laps to go took his fourth win of the year. Matt Gilbertson of Watson would inherit the lead and go on to get his fourth win of the season in the Wissota Modified feature.

In the WISSOTA Late Model feature Chad Becker of Aberdeen, SD would take over the lead, and went on to get his first win of the season.

Brock Volker of Hoffman took the lead to start the Pure Stock feature. Volker would hold the lead until he spun out on lap three, giving the lead to Austen Bowman of Pennock.

Bowman would hold on to get his first victory at Fiesta City Speedway. Noah Nelson of Dawson took the lead to begin the WISSOTA Hornet feature.

But Corey Mehrwerth of St. Stephen took the lead from Nelson as the field came to take the white flag and went on to get his first win at Fiesta City Speedway.
