Red-hot Vikings trounce Ortonville, 57-37
Jacob Hennen tossed in 24 points and hooked eight rebounds as Minneota upended Ortonville 57-37 on Friday night.
Hennen connected on 10 of 15 shots (67 percent), including four 3-pointers for the Vikings (7-5). Bishop Drietz added seven points and Jacob Citterman and Max Rost had six points apiece.
It was the fourth straight win for Minneota and the second straight game in which the Vikings held their opponent under 40 points and under 30 percent shooting.
Minneota shot a blistering 49 percent (24 of 49) from the field, which included eight 3-pointers that came from five different players. Minneota had only one free-throw attempt in the game.
The Vikings also outrebounded their the Trojans 30-23. Besides Hennen's game-high eight board, Cale Sorensen pulled down six rebounds, Citterman five and AJ Josephson four. Sorensen also led with four assists, and Josephson paced the Vikings with three steals.
Owen Longnecker led Ortonville with 11 points. Duane Fetters and Keegan Hamann scored eight points each.
