Mudhens stop Granite, rain stops 'emall

A three-run rally in the eighth inning gave Minneota a 5-3 lead over Granite Falls Wednesday night.
As they were trying to rally again with two men on in the ninth, the rains came and stopped the game — giving the Mudhens a 5-3 victory.
The Kilos had seven errors — four during the eighth inning rally. The big blows were a run-scoring single by Danny Hennen and a run-scoring double by Tyson Sonnenburg.
Minneota took a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Beau Buysse single, Jake Leighton doubled — Granite committed an error and Sonnenburg's groundout scored the second run.
On the mound, Zach Nuy had controll for five innings. He had given up just three hits — all in the fourth when Granite scored a run. And he fanned six batters. Byt he ran into trouble in the sixth. Danny Hennen pitched the rest of the way, struck out four and picked up the win.
Minneota will be at Milroy to face the Yankees on Sunday at 5 p.m.
