Minneota rumbles past Lakeview, 60-29
In a strong defensive effort, Minneota made 15 steals and limited Lakeview to only 23 percent shooting en route to a 60-29 win on Thursday night in Cottonwood.
A tenacious defense by the Vikings held the Lakers scoreless over the first nine minutes of the game. Minneota went on an 18-0 run to start the game and never looked back.
The Class A top-ranked Vikings, who also beat Lakeview in a previous Camden Conference meeting, 67-28, improved to 8-0.
Nine players scored for Minneota, led by Abby Hennen with 19 points and Abby Rost with 12. Hennen had five of the Vikings' six 3-pointers in the game. She also finished with seven rebounds, six assist and three steals.
Abby Rost also had a team-high five steals. Natalee Rolbiecki added eight points and three steals, Ireland Stassen had six points and nine rebounds, McKenna Yost had six points, Kennedi Jurrens four points, Jeren Rost and McKenzie Tolk two points each, and Grace Hennen one.
Kaitlynn Bot with seven points led Lakeview.
