Minneota boys coast to 7th win in row
Minneota continue its winning ways with its seventh straight win, keeping Yellow Medicine East winless on the season with an 84-43 victory on Saturday in Granite Falls.
Minneota (10-5) utilized a balanced scoring attack with four players reaching double figures and two others close behind.
The Vikings shot a torrid 57 percent (33 of 58) from the floor, including 6 of 19 from three-point range.
Bishop Drietz paced Minneota with 18 points, hitting 7 of 10 shots from the field. Jacob Hennen finished with 14 points, six assists and three rebounds. AJ Josephson notched 13 points and four steals, and Jacob Citterman added 12 points.
Joey Rybinski and Jacob Citterman scored seven points apiece, AJ Myhre had five points, Braeden Panka four, and Cole Myhre and Max Rost two apiece.
Minneota bolted to a 23-13 advantage before a 14-4 run opened the floodgates and gave the Vikings a 37-16 lead with just over three minutes remaining in the first half.
Minneota led by as many as 46 points in the second half. Half of Minneota's total points came on layups; many of those coming via transition points.
Yellow Medicine East fell to 0-16 this season. The Sting was led buy Kyle Chase with 12 points and Isaac Jimenez with eight points and four rebounds.
