Kockelman, Gillingham play in All-Star game

Two senior members of the Minneota State Class A Champion Minneota Vikings played in the recent volleyball All-Star game.
Minneota’s contribution to the game were Lizzy Gillingham and Morgan Kockelman.
Gillingham and Kockelmans Team won the Minnesota State All Star Volleyball battle.  “Both played well,” it was reported.
Kockelman was named the tournament Most Valuable Player.
The Blue Team, which Kockelman and Gillingham played on included: Isabelle Roufs of Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Baily Wynn of Pine River-Backus, Jenessa Berrios of Watertown-Mayer, Brenna Krommendyk of Southwest Christian and Gabby Heying of St. Cloud Cathedral. Their coach was John Yunker of Champlin Park.
The Red Team included Abigail McGlynn of Stephen-Argyle Central; Rhyan Hermann of Glencoe-Silver Lake, Ashley Adams of Wadena-DeerCreek, piper Asche of MACCRAY, Madison Guetter of Wabasso, Mariah Edgington of Spring Grove and Jamie Guptill of Rush City. This team was coached by Mike Selbitschka of North Branch.
In the match, Gillingham had nine kills, one assist, 11 digs and a block. Kockleman had 52 set-assits, two digs, an ace serve and a kill.
