Justin Tammen gets fourth win at Fiesta City Speedway
The Fiesta City Speedway was buzzing with activing last week as Justin Tammen of Clara City dominated the Wissota Street Stock Feature, leading all 16 laps, to record his fourth win of the year. It wasn’t the same for Cory Tammen of Moorhead in the Wissota Stock Stock Feature. Jay Hedtke of Grove City led all the way, until Ben Johnson of Benson took the lead on the very next lap and went on to a huge lead. But the caution flag came out with five laps to go and Johnson lost his lead.
Jeff Crouse of Alexandria took over and coasted to his second win of the season. Then, Jeff Wildung of Nassau led the WISSOTA Late Model feature from start to finish for his first win of the season. Scott Lonneman of Benson took the lead to start the Pure Stock feature.
With five laps to go, the red flag came out, as Lonneman hit the wall coming off turn four and Austen Bowman of Pennock ended up rolling over onto his roof. When racing resumed, Cody Hatch of Olivia inherited the lead.
Tad Peterson of Dawson took over the lead with four laps to go. Coming to the checkered flag, Abby Hacker and Henry Hacker of Montevideo were side by side for the lead at the finish. Abby was declared the winner — her fourth win of the year. Ryan Schleusner of Lake Lillian led the opening lap of the WISSOTA Midwest Modified feature. Travis Engebretson of Cyrus took the lead on lap two. Engebretson would lead until he spun out on lap six, giving the lead to Tim Kanten of Milan.
Kanten would lead the rest of the way and held off Corey Storck of Morris to get his first win of the season. Noah Nelson of Dawson took the lead at the start of the WISSOTA Hornet feature. Dustin Virkus of Clarkfield took the lead with three laps to go. Brittany Smith of St. Joseph took the lead with two laps to go and went to win her first feature at Fiesta City Speedway.
Morgan Ward of Watertown, SD took the lead at the beginning of the WISSOTA Modified feature.
Brian Haben of Appleton took the lead on lap three, and went on to get his first win of the year. Next week's Pure Stock Special is sponsored by True Value of Montevideo and Granite Falls, Adams Motor Company and Woody's Bar. Race time is 7 p.m.
