Tate Walerius on the mound.

Jr. Legion comes up on short end — twice

“This is a team that took third in the state last year,” said Coach J.D. Pesch.
The Minneota Jr. Legion fell behind New London Spicer, 5-0 in the first inning and never caught up, losing 11-3 Tuesday in Minneota.
It came on the heels of an 8-5 loss at Madison last Friday night.
Minneota pitcher Tate Walerius couldn’t survive the first inning, gave up all five runs and was relieved by Grady Moorse — who pitched well for five and a third innings, allowing three unearned runs while fanning two and walking four. He also hit a batter. Jacob Hennen finished up and gave up the final two runs.
But Walerius got his revenge with a pair of hits and run batted in.
