Josephson leads strong C/M contingent

Canby/Minneota coach Sara Hemish claims the boys' team is one of the strongest they have had is several years.
The top performer is AJ Josephson, who qualified for state in both the 200 and 400 last year. The senior is coming back from a torn ACL he sustained in football and missed the entire basketball season.
Other seniors who will lead the team this season at Tristan Bierschenk and Blake Stoks.
"We have a very good group of junior and sophomore athletes, too," Hemish acknowledged. "This is one of the largest boys team we have had in several years. We have 30 boys in grades 9-12."
The boys are also defending Camden Conference champions with a goal to repeat, as well as earning a spot in the True Team State Meet.
Hemish is assisted by Tony Ourada, Jeremy Stoks, Paul Bruns, and Brandon Berndt.
Like the girls team, the boys also have a very balanced lineup.
"Sprints, throws, jumps and distance all have quality athletes," said Hemish. "Our biggest challenge will be how to best use our talent to be most successful as a team and put them in the best position to advance through subs and sections, individually."
Like the girls' team, the boys began the season in the Redwood Valley Indoor Meet on Thursday, March 31 in Redwood Falls.
