Vikings sink TMB with 13-hit attack

Jackson Lacek and Eli Gruenes had three hits and combined for four RBI to back the combined four-hit pitching of Brody Larson and Peyton Gillund as Minneota defeated Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 7-4 Monday at K.P. Kompelien Field.
The Vikings (8-2) rapped 13 hits with all nine batters in the lineup reaching base at least once.
Lacek went 3-for-4, scored twice and drove in a run. Gruenes also went 3-for-4 while driving in three runs. Larson had two hits. Peyton Gillund, Isaac Pohlen, Joe Voit and Parker Bradley each had one hit. Ryan Meagher walked three times.
Larson pitched the first six innings for the win, allowing four hits and two earned runs. He walked three and struck out nine. Gillund pitched a hitless seventh with one strikeout for the save.

Vikings down MACCRAY
Ryan Meagher and Peyton Gillund combined on a four-hitter with eight strikeouts as Minneota topped MACCRAY 7-4 on Thursday in Raymond.
Isaac Pohlen went 2-for-2, scored three runs, drove in a run, and stole four bases for the Vikings (7-2). Gillund, Meagher, Ryan Dalager and Eli Gruenes had the other hits for Minneota.
Dalager, Meagher, Brody Larson and Parker Bradley drove home the Minneota runs.
Meagher started on the hill and worked the first 4 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and four runs, while walking three and fanning three. Gillund was solid in relief, pitching one-hit ball over the final 2 2/3 innings for the save. He struck out five and did not walk a batter.
Jase Dirksen pitched the first two innings and absorbed the loss for the Wolverines, who were 17-7 a season and finished fifth in the state in Class A. He left with MACCRAY trailing 3-2. Wyatt Swenson had two of the four Wolverines hits.

Dalager blanks Adrian
Minneota amassed 11 hits to back the two-hit pitching of junior right-hander Ryan Dalager, who struck out 12, in a 13-3 rout of Adrian last Tuesday in Adrian.
Peyton Gillund had three of the Vikings’ hits, including a double, and also scored three times from his leadoff spot.
Jackson Lacek and Eli Gruenes had two hits apiece for the Vikings (6-2).
Isaac Pohlen and Ryan Meagher drove in two runs apiece.
Dalager, earning his third win of the season, did not walk a batter and none of the runs off him were earned.
The Vikings blew open the game with a six-run second inning.
Pohlen, Meagher, Brody Larson and Parker Bradley had the other hits for Minneota.
Adrian used four pitchers who combined for 10 earned runs, four walks and nine strikeouts.
