Hennen, Yost spark Minneota win over CMCS

Abby Hennen drained five 3-pointers among her team-high 24 points and McKenna Yost sank four treys en route to a career-high 17 points as Minneota improved to 3-0 with a 68-45 triumph over Central Minnesota Christian School Thursday night.

Hennen, the Camden South Conference Most Valuable Player last year, made 9 of 15 shots from the field. She also amassed six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Yost sank 6 of 9 shots from the floor.

Abby Rost finished with 10 points and five rebounds for the Vikings. Natalee Rolbiecki added eight points and three steals, and Jeren Rost seven points, six rebounds and four steals.

Minneota shot 48 percent from the field, netting 28 of 58 shots. CMCS shot 37 percent (17 of 46).

The Vikings held a slim 9-8 lead before going on a 13-3 run for a 22-11 advantage. CMCS then went on an 11-5 run to cut the deficit to 27-22, but would get no closer.

Coco Duininck, the co-Most Valuable Player in the Camden North Conference a season ago, led the Bluejays with 24 points and three steals.
