Girls playoff game may be moved to Friday

The Hendricks girls' basketball team has thrown a monkey wrench into the Section 3A playoffs and it directly affects the Minneota Vikings.

Because Hendricks has girls in gymnastics and state gymnastics on Saturday, February 24, they asked and received approval to move the game with Minneota scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Montevideo.

"This is a situation where we would play Hendricks at 4 p.m. in Minneota Friday, February 23 IF Hendricks wins their play-in game on Thursday over Lakeview," said Minneota Acitivities Director Matt Myrvik.

"If Lakeview wins we would still play on Super Saturday at 11 a.m. in Montevideo," he said. 

The entire thing is complicated by the fact Minneota also has a Boys' Basketball game with Luverne on Friday.

"That will not be moved and will go on as scheduled with the B Squad starting around 6 p.m. followed by the varsity. 

"There is a lot of moving parts so I wanted to make every aware," said Myrvik.
