Cold shooting foils Vikings

Renville County West shot a torrid 51 percent from the field and went on to upend Minneota 60-42 in a Camden Conference game Tuesday night in Renville.

Minneota shot just 30 percent, including 19 percent (3 of 18) from three-point range. The road-weary Vikings were held only 16 points in the first half coming off back-to-back games. Nolan Boerboom led the Vikings with 14 points, and also pulled down eight rebounds and made two steals.

Joseph Rybinski and Alex Saltzer had six points apiece. Logan Sussner was held to a season-low five points, but grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.

Riley Ashburn paced the Jaguars with 20 points, while Jaden Kolker had 14 points and Tyler Rice 10. RCW did not make a free throw in the game, missing its three attempts.
