C/M girls first at Al Handahl Invite
Boosted by Grace Drietz's triple win, the Canby/Minneota girls easily won the 10-team Al Handahl Invitational Thursday in Granite Falls.
Drietz won both the 800 and 1600 runs, and anchored the winning 4 x 400 relay team that included RyAnn Hansen, Claire Stoks and Braelyn Merritt.
RyAnn Hansen also earned three wins, including the 200 dash and as the lead on both the 4 x 200 and 4 x 400 relay teams. The other 4 x 200 runners were Aidyn Bruns, Karlie Wollum and Natalie Stoks.
Also on the winning 4 x 400 relay team besides Hansen and Drietz were Claire Stoks and Braelyn Merritt.
Aidyn Bruns also was first in the high jump.
Canby/Minneota finished with 152 points, easily outdistancing runner-up BOLD/Buffalo Lake-Hector, which had 91.5. MACCRAY/Renville County West was third with 86 points.
The C/M boys placed sixth in the 10-team field with 57 points. Tracy-Milroy-Balaton won the boys' meet with 99.5 points. Montevideo was second with 95.5 and BOLD/Buffalo Lake-Hector was third with 86.5 points.
Blake Stoks of CM won the 1600 run and was also the anchor on the winning 4 x 800 relay team that also featured Kolton Duis, Zach Ourada and Blake Giese.
