C/M girls 1st; boys 4th at Madison
The Canby/Minneota girls placed first among five Camden Conference South track and field teams last Thursday at Lac qui Parle Valley High School in Madison.
Lac qui Parle valley/Dawson-Boyd won the boys' portion of the meet with Canby/Minneota finishing fourth.
The Canby/Minneota girls won three of the four relay events. Individual winners from Canby/Minneota were: Braelyn Merritt in the 300 hurdles, Grace Drietz in both the 800 and 1600 runs, Aidyn Bruns in the high jump, Ryann Hansen in the long jump and triple jump, and Mackenzie Janiszeski in the discus and shot put.
The Canby/Minneota boys finished first in the 4 x 200 relay, as well as AJ Josephson winning the 400 run, and Ty Stoks winning both the discus and shot put.
