Canby slugs Vikings, 10-6
ON MONDAY, Abraham was back in the lineup as a designated hitter — and Alex Pohlen slapped a second inning home run.
But after that the pitching fell apart and the Vikings dropped a 10-6 decision to the Canby Lancers.
Canby slapped out 13 hits, including a solo home run by Blake Mercer in the fourth inning.
A succession of pitchers, Teddy Pesch, Pohlen and Jacob Hennen couldn’t stop the Lancers from ruining the Vikings’ home opener.
It was a game that was supposed to be played in Canby but was moved to Minneota because of a wet Canby field.
Among the highlights for Minneota was a long triple to knock in two runs by Jaymes Moon in the fifth inning and a three single performance by Brant Buysse.
Nick Stoks had three hits and Kalib Greenman was 2-4 and knocked in three runs for the Lancers.
