Bowyer helps Crookston break school record

Lauren Bowyer, a University of Minnesota-Crookston freshman, is now a part of the record-breaking girls' golf program.
Bowyer, who finished 8th in the Class A state golf tournament last spring for Minneota, helped UM-Crookston shatter the school record for team score in a round three straight times last week.
The Golden Eagles finished fourth out of nine teams in the season opening Tracy Lane Memorial held in Bemidji. Bowyer had the fourth score on the team with a 181. Crookston broke the school record for a nine-hole round with a 338, then broke the school record for 18-hole score of 683 in the same meet on Monday, Sept. 12.
In a triangular with Southwest Minnesota State University and MSU-Moorhead on Sunday, Sept. 18 in Elbow Lake, the Golden Eagles broke their nine-hole record again with a 319.
Bowyer had the team's third best score with an 81 as Crookston placed second.
UM-Crookston plays in Marshall on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24-25.
