Through the first six Camden Conference games, the state's No. 1-ranked, 6-0 Minneota Vikings have had their way with opponents.

They did it again Thursday night, 3-0 over Dawson-Boyd by scores of 25-7; 25-11 and 25-7.

But take a look at the conference standings (above). The North half is 4-32 in league games. The south, where Minneota competes is 32-4.

Minneota's six victories have been over Camden North foes. They haven't played a single South foe yet.

In the south, the teams are 32-4 with Canby, Lakeview,Russell-Tyler-Ruthton and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton all undefeated.

Minneota Coach Hayley Fruin said, "We talked about it in the conference and some felt the top two teams should play for the championship, regardless if they're in the North or South."

She added, "But so far nothing came of it."

If the "uneven" conference continues through the season, it's likely an undefeated team will play a team with just a few wins for the "North-South Conference Championship."

Whatever happens, Minneota now will turn its attention to the Midwest Volleyball Warehouse tournament tonight and Saturday in Burnsville, then will begin their assault on the "better half" of the Camden Conference.

Thursday night Minneota was never tested by Dawson-Boyd, which failed to get any offense going as they spent all night trying to defend and return the resounding hits at the net by Minneota.

Natalee Hennen led the way at the net with 13 kills with Morgan Hennen and sister Abby Hennen getting eight and seven each. Abby Hennen also had four blocks for points and Abby Frie added two more

Minneota's serving continued strong with Abby Rost serving up 15 of 16; Morgan Hennen 13 of 14 and  McKenna Yost 13 straight. In the second game McKenna Yost served up four-straight points to vault the Vikings into a 12-6 lead they never lost. And Ellie Pesch landed six straight serves in the third game.

In the back row, Rolbiecki, Abby Hennen and Yost kept the ball bouncing back to the setters. Yost had 18 sets and Ireland Stassen 12.
