Drew Sagedahl of BOLD (1) blew by Joey Rybinski, as he did most everyone, enroute to scoring 35 points for the Warriors.

BOLD quickness, shooting destroys Vikings

Speed kills ... accuracy destroys and the BOLD warriors did all of that in a 78-53 pasting of the Minneota Vikings Saturday in the Tip-Off Classic in Hopkins.
“They’re good. They shoot the ball well,” said Minneota Coach Dave Busselman, who acknowledged, after a “decent first half,” in which Minneota trailed just 32-30, “The second half got away from us.”
Two quick, hot-shooting BOLD guards named Drew Sagedahl and Gavin Vosika combined to score 64 of the Warriors 78 points — all but 14.
Sagedahl, a junior and brother of injured Jordan Sagedahl, the BOLD football quarterback, put up 25 shots, sank 12, was eight of 10 at the free throw line and scored 35 points. Vosika, a BOLD running back in football, threw up 22 shots, sank 10, was six of seven at the free throw line and scored 29 points. Sagedahl also had 12 rebounds and Vosika nine.
Minneota, on the other hand, was a one-man-show on the scoreboard. Logan Sussner scored 29 points, hitting six of 11 free throws and 11 of his 21 shots — including a three-pointer. And, he gathered in 16 rebounds.
Nolan Boerboom was the only other Viking to score in double figures with 11, while getting three rebounds and four assists.
“We’re frustrated offensively right now,” said Coach Busselman. Outside of Sussner, we’re not seeing quality offensive play from the rest. “They’ve been able to get the ball into Sussner, I’ll say that,” said the coach.
In the second half BOLD used the speed and quickness of both Sagedahl and Vosika to drive to the basket, score baskets and force fouls.
The two-point deficit at half quickly went to a 10-point bulge in three minutes and half-way through the second half BOLD had increased the lead to 69-44.
“We just had no flow — we haven’t had all year. We’re trying to play out of it, but we didn’t do a good job of switching (guarding opponents), and that’s execution,” said Coach Busselman.
Minneota (1-2) plays at home Tuesday night against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton.
