BOLD fifth at state Legion, beat Luverne

BOLD finished as consolation champions in the Division 2 American Legion baseball tournament at Ely last weekend. They beat Luverne, 11-5 to capture fifth.

Dilworth-Glendon Felton beat Plato for the championship, 2-1. BOLD began the tournament with a 2-0 loss to Wadena, then beat Breckenridge, 5-1. Luverne was a 5-3 loser to Caledonia in the first round but they bounced back to beat host Ely, 4-1 to get into the fifth place match.

SACRED HEART-MACCRAY came back in the Junior Legion Sectional Tournament to win two straight games over BOLD to earn a spot in the Junior Legion Tournament.

They won those games 5-2 and 20-5. The section champs will play in the Jr. American Legion State Tournament August 9-11 at St. Charles.

They will play LeCrescent in the first round.
