Here’s a quick list of some of the major accomplishments.
•Minneota-Canby softball pitcher Sydney Larson threw a five-inning no-hitter against Yellow Medicine East. •Minneota Viking baseball catcher Jaymes Moon launched what we are calling, “The Moon Shot,” in the bottom of the seventh to cap a four-run comeback and 7-6 Viking victory over Renville County West.
•Minneota Mudhen pitcher Jake Leighton struck out nine batters and threw a seven-inning no-hitter against Tracy on Saturday. The Mudhens won, 12-0.
•On Monday the Canby-Minneota girls track team scored 687.5 points, outdistancing second place Southwest MN Christian by 69 points to win the Section 3A True Team meet and advance to the True Team State Tournament Saturday, May 19 in Stillwater.
•The Minneota girls and boys golf teams are a traveling golf show — playing a conference meet at one site, then packing up their clubs and moving to another site later that same day. Monday they started at Lakeview in Cottonwood and ended the day in Minneota.
They are becoming the “Traveling Golf Gypsies.”
