After exciting comeback, roof falls in on Vikings
After the exciting win over Renville County West, Minneota’s pitching exploded and they dropped the next two games.
A wild and wooly 20-19 loss at Adrian wasn’t settled until the bottom of the sixth when Adrian over-came a four-run Minneota rally to score the winning run. Pitchers Teddy Pesch, Jacob Hennen and Brant Buysse gave up 23 hits as the Adrian bats were led by Landon Rogers, who had four hits and knocked in three runs. Minneota’s Alex Pohlen socked a home run and two doubles among his four hits. He also knocked in four runs.
The next day, Viking pitchers Sam Buysse, Thomas Hennen and Austin Sorensen gave up only three hits. But they were wild to the tune of eight walks.
Errors also opened the door for Kerkhoven-M-S and the Fighting Saints won, 10-1. Saints pitcher Dylan Rudningen fanned 13 Minneota batters and allowed just four hits.
