Ronald was born to Andrew and Helen (Kwiatkoski) Traen on Aug. 5. 1947 in Marshall, MN. He grew up in Taunton and attended Taunton Public School through eighth grade, then transferred to Minneota Public School where he graduated in 1965. After high school he attended school in Canby for welding but decided it wasn't for him, so he drove school bus for the Minneota Public School system. He then moved to St. Paul where he again drove school bus for the St. Paul School system, then a bus for the City of St. Paul, before settling into a job with the State of Minnesota for 30 years.
Ron was married to Annette Doom in 1981 and of that union their son Gabriel was born. When his marriage ended, Ron and Gabe spent a lot of time together and Ron later met and married Linda Scribner for their complete family.
Ron loved all sports, especially high school sports, passionately following the Minneota Vikings in football, wrestling, girls and boys basketball, and volleyball. He attended many of the tournaments they participated in in St. Paul. He also followed the Minnesota Vikings, the Minnesota Wild, the Minnesota Twins, and any other football or baseball game he could watch. He also enjoyed family vacations, his hunting and fishing trips with Gabe, and polka music. Ron could talk to anyone and kept in touch with almost everyone he has ever known. He had no enemies, only friends.
Ron was part of the MN Deer Association, delivering deer hides after the fall hunts, loved animals, especially dogs, and was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Ron is survived by his wife, Linda, son Gabe, and granddog Max. Also surviving him are his sisters, Cheryl Galbraith of Minneapolis, MN and Andrea (Jim) Opdahl of Minneota, as well as sister-in-law Nona Scribner (Joe) of Woodbury, MN; and brothers-in-law Paul (Bonnie) Scribner of Pine River, MN, and Steve (Barb) Scribner of Lake Elmo, MN, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Lyle, mother-in-law, Lorraine, and one nephew.
Ron was a faithful servant of God, a loving husband, Dad, brother and uncle, and will be sadly missed by many. May he Rest in Peace.
