Karen Doom

Karen Marie Doom was welcomed into this world on June 6, 1960 to Denis and Margaret (Lozinski) Doom. She entered into eternal life on Feb. 2, 2022 surrounded by her sisters.
Karen grew up in rural Minneota and attended grade school at St. Edward’s Catholic School, where she made her First Communion and Confirmation, then attended high school at Minneota Public School and graduated in 1978. During high school, she worked at the Corner Café in Taunton for Franz Breyfogle. She continued her education at Willmar Community College.
Following college, she moved to Minneapolis. In 1999 she purchased her home in the country by Grant (Stillwater). She worked for several businesses until joining Gremar, where she worked for over 36 years. During this time, she also started growing her own successful business in property management and real-estate. She took great pride in her buildings and took very good care of her tenants, often still completing tasks until late in the evening. She had a keen eye for architecture and loved the challenge of revitalizing buildings.
After an already full day, she enjoyed unwinding with great food, good conversation and a satisfying glass of wine with her friends and family. She loved to cook. She tried many new recipes and then shared them with others helping them learn the art of cooking. She enjoyed many vacations with her family and friends including back packing across Europe. She enjoyed cruising around with her Volkswagen teaching the kids to drive. She was always an adventurous soul up for anything with whomever was around, including biking the Gateway Trail, a good foosball game, riding her horse, Butters, and doting on her cat, Kitty. She was an uplifting person with a can-do attitude and could always accomplish anything. Karen always took time to enjoy family and friends which were very important to her. She always put them first. She loved her family and they loved her. She enjoyed attending various activities that her nieces and nephews were involved with, including them on adventures whether it was exploring the river on a nature hike, skiing, camping or any other special events they had. She cherished them and they adored her and could not wait to see their Auntie Karen. She was a loyal friend to all. She also had a deep faith that sustained her during her life.
Karen is survived by her mother, Margaret Doom, sisters Denise Buysse, Diane & Tom Stoks, Margaret (Peggy) & LuVerne Sik, and Jeanne & James Kraus. She is also survived by her amazing friends, Patrick and Phyllis Hoel, Tina Doskey, Richard Goldman and Joe Doom.
