Visitation will take place following the service at the remembrance center until 4 p.m. Interment will follow the visitation at St. Edward Catholic Cemetery in Minneota.
John was born on Dec. 9, 1930, on the family farm outside of Porter, MN, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Moorse) Boulton. He attended country school through the fifth grade and graduated from Minneota High School. John married Corrine Lindstrom at St. Edward Church on Oct. 18, 1952, and they continued to live on the farm and raised five children.
Farming was John’s life. He enjoyed nieces and nephews coming to the farm so they could help pick rocks, cockleburs, bale hay, and paint the outside buildings! Besides farming he also kept busy with “Boulton Trailer Sales,” on numerous elected and appointed positions with the Yellow Medicine River Watershed and the Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation. He loved swimming, boating, and water skiing in his younger days. He liked to go 4 wheeling with the kids and tell us all the history of where the train came through Porter and how Alta Vista got its name. He even has “Lake John” West of Porter named after him. He enjoyed his Alexa and also playing tricks on everyone with his whoopy cushion. John had an excellent sense of humor, and he had to tell his stories or jokes over many times as he liked to hear them again himself.
John passed away on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at the Sanford Sylvan Court in Canby. He is survived by his children: Cyndy (Vinny) DeSutter of Litchfield, Mary Jo (Ken) Gillund of Minneota, Dave and Connie, Tom (Janelle) Boulton, Kari and Ron all of Porter; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Ron and Andrea Lindstrom of Roseville, CA, Harold Regnier of Rochester, and Betty Boulton of Marshall, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Corrine on August 5, 2020; parents Joseph and Elizabeth; parents-in-law Carl and Elnora Lindstrom; brother Leonard and sister Joan Regnier; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Robert and Helen Boulton, Al and Mary (Boulton) Hess, Irving and Ruth (Boulton) Jerzak, Jack and Esther (Boulton) McLaughlin.
