Darryl Josephson

A Memorial service for Darryl David Josephson, 69, of rural Taunton, will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Rehkamp Horvath Funeral Home in Minneota. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military Rites will be provided by the Taunton and Minneota Legions following the service. A private burial will be held later at the Westerheim Cemetery.

Darryl David Josephson was born on April 10, 1951, to Roseville “Rozy” and Jeanne (Flood) Josephson. He attended Minneota Public School, graduating with the class of 1969. Darryl enlisted and served for six years in the Air Force National Guard and seven years in the Army National Guard reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. Darryl was a member of the Taunton Legion. He obtained his Welding and Diesel Mechanic Degree from the Canby Vocational Technical School. Darryl farmed and operated his own mechanic shop for a few years. He then worked as a mechanic for Ampride in Marshall for several years, and recently retired as a truck driver for Viessman Trucking. Throughout the years he enjoyed metal detecting, prospecting on trips to Arizona with family, coin collecting, metal scrapping, and helping others. Darryl was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. He most of all enjoyed visiting his many good friends and neighbors in the community, sharing stories and jokes, and was very lucky with lottery tickets.

Darryl passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, under hospice care at his residence with family at his side. He is survived by his stepmother Mildred Josephson, siblings Rosella Wimmergren of Minneota, Deanna Rodina of Taunton, Laurie (Dean) Breyfogle of Taunton and Dale Josephson of Norwood Young America; nieces and nephews Jerry (Joy) Kack, Jett and Jessa; Brenda (Greg) Kimmes, Kobe and Kevin; Warren Kack, Makayla and Tara; Stephanie (John) Evenson, Tyler (Jess) Evenson, Vada and Cooper; Erin Evenson; Dan Kack; Stacey (Dan) Longtin, Adam (Lauren) Longtin, Travis Longtin; Steve (Jenna) Polchow, Emma and Jessa; Matthew (Marissa) Breyfogle; Jordan Breyfogle; Brianna (Cabe) Miller; Nikki Josephson; Kari Josephson; Traci (Jesse) Orvis; Brandi (Scott) Stephenson; and many great-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Shirley Josephson; nephew Brandon Kubiszewski, brother-in-law Don Rodina and great-nephew baby David Longtin.
